The HOVER (High Occupancy Vehicles in Express Routes) Flexible Carpooling System (see also www.flexiblecarpooling.org) is a service for commuters that takes the hassles out of carpooling. It makes it easy to be part of the solution for congestion, rather than part of the problem. It saves commuters time and money, makes their commute more enjoyable, helps get the traffic flowing, and helps keep taxes down. It is also good for the planet. Click here to see How HOVER got started, and How HOVER is good for the planet.
Before you go on to learn more, you might like to roll your mouse over the flags above. Note that there are metropolitan areas showing for each country. If you click on your metropolitan area you will get a form to fill to tell us about your commute, and if you would like to have HOVER in your metropolitan area. If your metropolitan area isn't there, click 'suggest new' and you can suggest a metropolitan area for us to add, as well as all the details right down to your route. We'll keep a 'hall of fame' of people who first suggest routes that end up being real HOVER routes! HOVER creates a community of commuters who share rides, and share the benefit of the savings through the HOVER Ride Credit system. (Use the scroll bar to see more). In the morning HOVER People drive (or walk, or cycle) to a HOVER PARK and form a HOVER Trip, (a car with 3+ people) and drive to their destination. In the evening HOVER People make their way to a HOVER PORT and form fuller cars to share a ride back to their car. In an emergency, a HOVER Person without their car can call for a ‘Guaranteed Ride Home’ or back to their car. Each HOVER Trip might be taken with different people and in different cars, but they will made with the knowledge that all are signed up members of a special community, saving by sharing, not only for themselves but for the planet as well. We'd like to know about your commute, so that we can figure out the next place to set up HOVER. Please make sure to tell us about your commute before you leave the site. |
